Have you ever walked out of a massage relaxed on the surface but still buzzing underneath?

Muscles looser. Mind still racing. Jaw still clenched by the time you hit the parking lot.

That was me for years. And it's the reason I fell in love with craniosacral work.

What craniosacral work actually is

Craniosacral work is a gentle, hands-on session focused on the head, spine, and sacrum (the flat bone at the base of your spine). Those areas hold the membranes and fluid that surround and cushion your brain and spinal cord, the command center of your nervous system.

The touch is light. About the weight of a nickel. No kneading, no digging, no bracing yourself through deep pressure. You stay fully clothed and lie face up on the table. I listen with my hands for areas of tension and give your body room to soften them.

It sounds almost too simple. That's kind of the point.

Why I offer it

Everything I teach comes back to one idea: your gut, your hormones, and your nervous system work as one loop. When your nervous system is stuck in defense mode, that alarm keeps ringing through everything else. Digestion slows down. Cortisol stays high. Sleep gets thin. Your body stays braced for a threat that already passed.

You can't think your way out of that state. You can't willpower it. Your nervous system needs to feel safe before it will stand down.

Craniosacral work is one of the most direct ways I know to send that signal. Slow, quiet, predictable touch, and nothing asked of you. For a lot of women, it's the first time in a long time their body gets permission to fully rest.

What it feels like

Most clients describe a deep, heavy kind of relaxation. Some feel warmth or gentle pulsing. Some drift somewhere between awake and asleep. Some notice their breathing slow down on its own, or their stomach start gurgling. That's your rest-and-digest system coming back online, and it's a good sign.

Once in a while, emotion comes up. That's welcome too. Nothing needs to be explained or fixed. Your body gets to do what it needs to do.

Who tends to love it

Women who come to me for craniosacral work often describe some mix of:

Feeling wired and tired at the same time
Tension that lives in the jaw, neck, shoulders, or head
Stress that seems to go straight to their gut
Trouble shutting their brain off at night
Finding regular massage too intense, or never quite able to relax during it
Simply wanting a calm, quiet hour where nobody needs anything from them

If you read that list and felt a little seen, this session was made with you in mind.

About my training

I'm trained in the Upledger approach to craniosacral therapy, the method developed by osteopathic physician Dr. John Upledger. It's built on precise, gentle, listening touch, and it fits naturally with the nervous system work at the heart of everything I do at The Holistic Alchemist.

What to expect at your session

We start with a short conversation about what's going on for you and what you're hoping to feel.
You lie face up on a padded table, fully clothed, with bolsters and a blanket for comfort.
The room is warm and dim. Soft music or silence, your choice.
The session runs about 60 minutes. You don't have to do anything. No talking required.
Afterward, drink some water and give yourself an easy rest of the day if you can. Many clients say they sleep especially well that night.

Wear comfortable clothes you can relax in. Skip the jewelry, and if you wear your hair up, a low style is easiest.

How to book a session with me

I can't wait to have you on the table.
